Once again I look forward to preparing income tax returns for so many of you. Please review these instructions on how best to interact with me. And remember to fill out an interview form (#5).
If you're coming by to drop off or pick up, you can reserve a time here. I still have the door slot and you are welcome to drop and dash!
1.) I appreciate your sending digital copies of your documents via the upload link above. I can also work with cloud storage folders like Google Drive or DropBox (see instructions). If you would like help with scanning you can print these instructions.
2.) If you don't have access to a computer, I can still help you with your documents. Bring me what you have, and I can scan them and return the originals to you. Reserve a time to meet me here.
3.) If you are mailing documents or dropping through my door slot, I promise to return any originals, but I prefer you send photocopies which I can destroy after I prepare your return. With the Post Office, use priority mail, or something trackable.
4.) I may ask for your photo ID for both taxpayer and spouse. Governments are delaying processing if there is any question about identity. Providing ID will help prevent delays.
5.) Remember to complete the interview questionnaire.
I always look forward to catching up with everyone, and the same is true this year. It has been a quiet and stable year in our family, something that makes us thankful.
